Here is what I have been doing to help with this resolution:
1) I signed up with http://www.sparkpeople.com/ to track my excercise and calories/fat etc. There are more features, but that is all I have had time to do for now.
2) I bought a lot of bottled water(gallons and individual bottles) - really - we have well water, and even though we do have a water purifier on it, I still won't drink it. So, I stocked up big time. I have always had a problem getting my 8 glasses of water per day.......I don't like water, but Im really making a conscious effort to get my 8 in a day. My kids are a HUGE help with reminders.
3) Workouts.....wow am I out of shape or what? After my first 5 minutes of "working out" I was WORN OUT, and then was told those 5 minutes were JUST my warm up.....I had not even started the workout yet. YIKES! I made it 15minutes after that. Barely. I use the wii game Your Shape with Jenny McCarthy. I really enjoy it so far. One thing that is REALLY REALLY motivating about it is....there is a webcam device that you use... well, I try to avoid full-length mirrors, so seeing myself ON TV - WORKING OUT, is a definite motivation to get rid of the extra flab! Another great feature, is no wii remote is needed, the camera is all thats needed. So, I can use free-weights (eventually...) or anything else I'd like. And, the other thing I love is it has YOGA!! I have not tried it yet, but Im looking forward to it.
If I get bored with that workout, I do have JUST DANCE! which is tons of fun! And, I have EA Sports Active for the Wii as well. My OLD excuses were: not having time to workout, not having money to spend at a gym or the YMCA, and having the kids with me (too hard to take 4 on a long power walk). So, the Wii has REALLY helped squash all those excuses. I can work out anytime of the day, it's free to workout, and the kids are by my side!
Thats my update! I hope all you are doing well on your resolutions!
good job. I wanted to try the wii fit, but now Im looking into DANCE Wii games, they just seem more fun. something I would actually stick to
