So, now i have talked to the managers at both my favorite Publix stores and found out that there are new rules:
NO MORE ALberstsons coupons will be accepted :( This was due to the over-use of meat coupons. (not my words.)
Also, the store on Doyle, informed me that they will no longer accept BJ's, CVS, or Walgreens Coupons........... WHAT? I didn't know they took them!!!!!! Boy did I miss out!
The stores are Orange City(enterprise rd) and Doyle/Providence. They both said they will still take Food Lion, Target, Winn Dixie & Save Alot. I completely forgot to ask about Whole Foods, sorry!
Hmm, that stinks! Did anyone pick up any of the Albies coupons that they would like to share? Im thinking I may try somewhere else if we go anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI regularly use the one in Orange City at Crown Center (Enterprise Rd.) Within the past week I have used Walgreens, Target, Winn Dixie and Family Dollar. I've used Whole Foods there in the past, would like to find out if they'll still accept it. I've also used the ones for $5 off $25 from Sears Essentials (in Deland) there as well).
ReplyDeleteOK, Family Dollar AND Sears Essentials?? WOW
ReplyDeleteI was turned down using walgreens when I first started. i was told "only traditional grocery stores".
Awesome deal at the Publix on Doyle that I got last night: Sorrento Cheddar Sticksters (10oz) are marked down to $3, with $1 store coupon in the publix flyer (store entrance) and then $1 peelies on the packages. Makes them $1!
ReplyDeleteI think the reason that the Orange City store is as liberal as they are is the close proximity of just about all these places... Walgreens is just about in their parking lot, K-Mart and Save-a-Lot across the street in one direction, Target across the street in the other, and 1-2 blocks down you have CVS and Family Dollar. You can pretty much stand in Publix's parking lot and spit and hit any of them (including Big Lots as well). I guess it depends on what you have nearby. I can understand the stand on Albertson's, since the nearest one is now in Lake Mary. I need to find out what the latest take is on Whole Foods.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the Orange City store has NEVER accepted BJ's coupons... I know, I tried, after hearing about other folks in other locales that were able to use them, as long as a size was not specified. They don't consider warehouse stores like BJ's, Costco or Sam's to be direct competition, per a member of that store's management staff.
ReplyDeleteI know the Publix on Saxon would not accept Walgreens or CVS. My mom shops there and tried to use a RR and was told only grocery stores. I know she is gun shy about using coupons, especially competitors, so I will pass along the info that the enterprise store will take target, food lion etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update

ReplyDeleteThey won't take a RR, but they will honor the coupons in the Walgreens ads and you can use the Walgreens coupons to stack with a manufacturer's coupon there. The only place she can use the RR is Walgreens itself.
How about the Deltona store (Dupont Lakes)???? Any restrictions so far???? I am trying to learn using coupons at Publix!! lol..... Myrah
ReplyDeleteHoping one of my readers can help you Myrah - I haven't been to that one. :(
ReplyDeleteDon't have an answer for you Myrah, but if you're new to couponing, Publix is usually one of the most coupon-friendly stores around. I also find that the crew at the Walgreens on 17-92 in DeBary is very helpful and very coupon-friendly as well.
ReplyDeleteIf you're not sure if you can use a certain store's coupons, either call ahead of your visit (get the name of the person that says you can use whatever as a back-up!) or stop by the customer service desk and ask prior to your shopping. I called ahead about the Family Dollar ones to my Publix, and got the name of the person that gave me the green light to use them... and it WAS questioned when I checked out. All I had to say was that I checked with so-and-so this morning before I came, and they said it was OK.
Good luck in your coupon shopping adventures!
