I have been asked how healthy our Cheap or Free meals actually are. I think a lot of people are under the impression that cutting costs = cutting nutrition. Yes, it's true that a lot of junk foods go on sale ALOT, but if you put some work into it, you can still make healthy meals for your family! This is our menu for the day. (myself and 4 kids, my husband will not be home for the dinner portion) Grand total $1.75
Breakfast:
Whole Grain Pancakes (paid $1 after coupons at Wags awhile back) 1/5 of the box = .20
Low-Sugar Syrup .10
Cut up bananas (mixed into pancakes) .25
Tropicana OJ FREE (home mailer coupon)
Lunch:
mac & cheese .20
(3) cut up apples w/ PButter spread .20
1/2 cup roasted peanuts Maybe .20?
Dannon Yogurt FREE
milk- another freebie from CVS
Dinner:
Fish w/ meditteranean basil sauce FREE
1/2 bag salad .60
Dressing FREE
rice - mahatma rice FREE
water and/or crystal light FREE
Dessert:
Frozen Yogurt crush cups (Dannon) FREE
